My husband, Bob, was diagnosed with ALS in 2016. After first meeting with representatives from The ALS Association (now ALS United), Bob was determined to find a way to give back to them for all of their hard work and generosity. We began the Ice Bucket Open golf tournament at Bob's former place of work, Canaan Country Club. We ran this charity golf tournament successfully for 5 years, with all proceeds going to ALS United. We continued the tournament even after Bob passed away in February 2019, until Covid struck and we were forced to end our run. Despite no longer hosting the golf tournament, our family still wants to give back in any way we can to this amazing organization that was by our side throughout every step of Bob's battle with ALS. After my grandson was born in March 2024, we knew we had to participate in the walk again so he can grow up understanding how important it is to give back, and continue his grandfather's mission. Our team name has now changed to Bob's Caddies, because we are carrying on Bob's legacy and doing our part to help make a difference for others affected by ALS.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.  I'm participating in ALS United Connecticut's Walk ALS to raise funds that will support individuals and families affected by ALS.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of it's ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe.  The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.  ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease.  Currently there is no known cause or cure.

Being a part of ALS United Connecticut's Walk ALS is the number one way to unite and fundraise for those living with ALS.  Please consider supporting my efforts by donating through my fundraising page.

Your donation today will help fund resources and services to the local ALS community, help find new ALS treatments, and move us closer to a world without the disease.

Please feel free to send this page to any friend or family member who might be interested in donating!

Thank you!
