Our BBQ and Brew fundraiser was a success!  Of course we are only halfway to our goal.  Thank you for donating, please share this link so we can reach our goal.

ALS United Connecticut is near and dear to my heart. As many of you know my sister has been diagnosed with ALS.  ALS United has been helpful to her, her husband and to my family. The cost of prescriptions, medical supplies, and all the other things she needs is ridiculous.

I think it is important for you to know THERE IS NO CURE YET.

By joining our team The Amazing Shel’s Belles and raising money for the ALS walk in September is a great way to help. Please share the link with others so they can join or donate.

If you are not joining our team please consider donating to help us reach our goal.

We are also planning a BBQ and Brew benefit on Sunday August 25, 2024 from 1-5 at The Sports Bar, North Windham CT. Tickets are $25 and we will have food, raffles and music.  All proceeds will go to ALS United Connecticut.

Some information about ALS:

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe.  The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.  ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease.  Currently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need.

Please reach out to me with any questions.

Thank you for your support.
