Welcome to My Personal Page

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.  I am walking in honor of my Dad, Joe Blackwelder. He was recently diagnosed with ALS in February of this year. He lost his battle to this horrific disease on July 9th, 2025. My Dad was my hero.  This has shattered our hearts and lives!  I'm participating in ALS United Connecticut's Walk ALS to raise funds that will support individuals and families affected by ALS.  ALS United CT has already done so much to help my Dad by providing him with essential equipment he required to help keep him independent and comfortable.  It is my obligation to stand up and give back to an organization that has personally helped my family and others.  The organization has been nothing short of amazing to my Dad and family!  I will support them as they have always supported us!

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of it's ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe.  The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.  ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease.  Currently there is no known cause or cure.

My Dad was completely healthy and well at the young age of 68.  Being a part of ALS United CT's Walk ALS is the number one way to unite and fundraise for those living with ALS.  Please consider supporting my efforts by donating through my fundraisng page. Your donation today will help fund resources and services to the local ALS community, help find new ALS treatments, and move us closer to a world without the disease.

Please feel free to send this page to any friend or family member who might be interested in donating or would join my team "Papa's Pack" to be a part of the cure and support those affected by this devastating disease!  We will be wearing team shirts, let's pack the stadium for my Dad and the girls Papa who means the world to all of us!

Thank you!

Tricia

XOXO
