Welcome to My Personal Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I'm participating in ALS United Connecticut's Walk ALS to raise funds that will support individuals and families affected by ALS. This year, all donations to the Walk ALS New Haven will be matched!
I am participating in this year?s ALS Walk in memory of Jon ?LJ? Montelius. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis, but LJ bravely lived with this devastating disease for 8 years. During that time, I watched as my dad cared for?and deeply cared about?LJ.
He was there not just in the practical, day-to-day ways, but in the way that truly matter: showing up, staying connected, and valuing their friendship through it all. My dad lives his life this way?always putting others first, always leading with compassion. His love and loyalty to LJ continue to inspire me, and it?s why I walk this year: to honor both LJ?s strength and the incredible bond they shared.
If you feel called to donate, as i did, please use my link. And if you?re not able to please share with friends and family to get the word out. Thank you.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of it's ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. ALS can strike anyone regardless of age, gender, nationality, or ethnicity, although it is primarily an adult-onset disease. Currently there is no known cause or cure.
Your donation today will help fund resources and services to the local ALS community, help find new ALS treatments, and move us closer to a world without the disease.
