It has been five years since my dad passed away from ALS. I miss him every day. He fought this disease to the very end and I know he would be proud of our continuation of his fight. We also lost my Uncle Peter Corbett last year to pancreatic cancer - he was an incredible philanthropist, leader, and inspiration to everyone. He did so much as the head of ALS United, CT, making sure all the money received was directly helping local families struggling with this disease. 

So, I?m asking you all once again to participate in Team Jeffe?s annual fundraiser - anything you can contribute helps immensely. All funding goes towards ALS research & helps assist families with info, equipment & support - local, right here in CT! We could not have gotten through the last many years without the support of the ALS Association, and we will continue to do everything we can to give back. Thank you for your help with this goal!

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure. 

That?s why I?m walking. To change the statistics. To bring help and hope to those living with the disease. To support the caregivers who help their loved one fight this disease.   To ensure that no one ever hears the words: ?You Have ALS? again!  

The past two years have brought incredible advancements in ALS research, expanded access to care for people living with ALS, and enabled legislation that impacts the quality of life of people with ALS and their families.
