Thanks for helping the Elainers defeat ALS!
Hello friends! In 2023, my mother Elaine was diagnosed with ALS. As the disease has taken away her ability to walk, dance, cook and perform most of the everyday tasks we take for granted, it has taken a heavy toll on our family.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
On October 19 we will join the Walk to Defeat ALS. The money we raise will help the Connecticut ALS Association fund research and provide care to families who can't otherwise afford it.
Any support you could show, even a single dollar, would mean the world to me and my family. Living with this disease can be a lonely and isolating experience, and simply knowing that we have the support of others can give us essential motivation and energy.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for helping the Elainers reach our goal!
